★★★★★ he read it AND he liked it!!

I remember swooning over this movie as a teenager--what 14 yr old girl wouldn't? Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze--sigh. My 13 yr old son hasn't been able to get 'into' a book and i didn't know if he'd like this one, different time period, no pop 2000's culture, based in Tulsa Oklahoma. He finished it in a week and is now onto "That was then, this is now" - loved the book. Highly recommend

★★★★★ The Outsiders book review.

The Outsiders was one of the best books I've read, 5 stars. The book is about a teen, Ponyboy Curtis and his gang of friends living by themselves in a tuff neighborhood. During a brutal fight with a rival gang called the Socs, one of the friends does something very bad is forced to run away with Ponyboy. Together they try to survive with each other and a couple other items alone. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend! Make sure you read it!

★★★★★ OUTSTANDING book!

The Outsiders is an OUTSTANDING book. This story is filled with action and sorrow, always keeping you on your toes. The Outsiders is a book about a group of people called the greasers who live on the South side of Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1965. Their enemies, the socs, are from the north side, whom the greasers get in a fight with. After a horrible incident, two characters have to flee to safety. This book is written beautifully and gives great detail. Although, one weakness has to be that some parts of the book are a little slow. Hands down this is one of my favorite books. I LOVE all the detail and action, it is one of those books that you just can't keep your hands off of! I defiantly recommend this book to every reader!

The Outsiders is a novel about a group of youthful greasers living in Oklahoma and about their struggles to exist in a society that seems designed to dismiss them. It is a moving story of lonely, unwanted teenagers, who make one mistake. The characters are all unique, and I felt a connection with every one of them. There is rawness and violence, but there is honest hope for these kids too.
