Anybody can get a public library card! If you live in a northern Saskatchewan community with a public library, you can register for a library card directly from your local public library.

If you DO NOT live in a community with a public library, you can also sign up at your local school library, download and print a library card registration form here, or contact our office to have one mailed, faxed or emailed directly to you!

We also have an online registration form for temporary public library cards, which are good for three (3) months and can be upgraded to permanent library cards upon your visit to a local public library or to PNLS Headquarters.  

How Do I Get a Public Library Card?

There are many ways to get a public library card! You will need two pieces of identification (one that includes your address).

• Download and print a library card registration form here, and mail, fax, or scan and email it to our office.
• Phone, fax, or email our office, and we will mail, fax or email a library card registration form directly to you.
• Complete a library card registration form at your local public library.
• Complete our online application form for a temporary public library barcode.  Within the next three (3) months, bring two pieces of identification in with you to a public library to finalize your library account and receive your permanent public library card.

You will then receive your public library card, along with some helpful instructions on how to use your library, and an overview of the many great resources now available to you!

How Do I Return My Library Materials?

If you live in a northern Saskatchewan community with a public library, you can return drop your library materials off at your public library. Not sure if you have a public library in your community? Check our Member Library Hours & Locations!

If you DO NOT live in a community with a public library, you can return your library materials using the free mailing labels that are included with them when they arrive.

How Old Do I Have to Be to Get a Public Library Card?

You can be any age! However, if you are under the age of 14 your parent or guardian must sign your library card registration form, and is responsible for any overdue fines and lost or damaged items.
