New for the 2024-2025 year, the Pahkisimon Nuyeʔáh Library System is thrilled to announce the Northern Active Living Library (NALL) program, a new partnership with the Northern Sport, Culture & Recreation District!
The Northern Active Living Library program partnership aims to enhance equitable access to sport, culture and recreation material for all northern residents and communities. Under the NALL partnership, NSCRD provides the active living lending material and PNLS provides the distribution, storage, and usage tracking.
The NALL program offers the following items and sets, available to all PNLS library cardholders in good standing:
Smith Helmet The Smith Helmet combines protection, comfort, and style for outdoor adventures. Its lightweight build, adjustable fit, and breathable ventilation ensure a secure and comfortable experience. Available in a range of sizes: Youth/Small (Burgundy), Small (Blue), Medium (Red), Large (Yellow), and X-Large (Black).
Ice Sled The Tube Pro™ Ice Sled is designed for commercial sledding, featuring a durable waterproof foam core, PVC cover, and a concave plastic base with running grooves for excellent performance on all snow conditions. Measures 42” x 18” and is available in red.
Snow Tube Tube Pro™ snow tubes are designed for commercial resort tubing applications and capable of accommodating large adults and small children. This 41" (104 cm) snow tube features a high molecular weight polyethylene hard plastic bottom for superior sliding performance under cold conditions and an orange urethane cover.
Atlas Access Snowshoes The Atlas Access Snowshoe in size 30" and 25" is designed for trail walking on mellower terrain. It features a V-Frame™ for natural gait, Nytex Decking for durability, and Twin-Trac™ toe crampons for traction. Includes 19° heel lift for inclines.
Tubbs Storm Snowshoes The Tubbs Storm Snowshoe is a kid-friendly model designed for ages 6–10. It features a lightweight tubular frame, Soft-Tec™ decking for flotation, and QuickLock™ binding for easy use. Recreational toe and heel crampons provide grip for safe snow-filled adventures.
Binoculars The Triumph HD Binoculars offer 10X magnification with a 42mm objective lens for exceptional resolution and color fidelity. Features include an HD Optical System, waterproof and shockproof construction, fogproof performance, and adjustable eyecups. Includes a neck strap, lens covers, Rainguard eyepiece cover, lens cloth, and case.

Bocce Game Sets Bocce is a classic easy-to-play game that offers hours of fun at any age, and provides an active experience that the whole family can enjoy! The all-weather durable balls in this set are coloured for team play with size and weight that suits all ages. This Swiftflyte™ bocce set contains eight 90mm bocce balls (two blue, two green, two yellow and two red), one white 40mm palino (or jack) ball, and a canvas carrying bag for easy storage.
Ladder Ball Game Sets
Ladder ball — also known as ladder toss, ladder golf or bolaball — is a classic lawn game where players or teams compete by tossing and wrapping their bolas around different rungs of a ladder. Each tier ranges from 1-3 points, so aim for the top to score the most points! This Champion™ ladder ball set contains the game materials, instructions for ladder setup, and an expandable nylon carrying bag.
Horseshoe Game Sets
A classic backyard toss game to enjoy while you camp, tailgate or barbeque, this professional-quality Champion™ set contains four solid steel pitching horseshoes (two silver and two bronze) and two 24" steel outdoor stakes, as well as instructions for play and a convenient nylon carrying case. (Please note that horseshoe sets must be picked up in-person from PNLS Headquarters or from a participating member library, as the weight of the game renders it ineligible for standard library shipping.)
Bean Bag Target Sets
This portable bean bag target set, fantastic for all ages and a great way to teach aim and coordination to younger players, contains one easy-to-assemble target (43" x 43") and twelve 4" x 4" bean bags (four green, four blue, four yellow, four red).
Boardball Sets
Designed to lower the barriers to playing volleyball, and constructed for both outdoor (beach, park, field, backyard) and indoor (gym, court, indoor turf) use, boardball — a combination of volleyball and roundnet/spikeball — is great for competitive volleyball players, recreational players, youth and adults looking to practice their bump-set-spike skills, or anyone just looking to have a good time. This Boardball, Inc™ set contains one playing board (one board and four legs), one volleyball, one volleyball hand pump, and a laminated instruction sheet.
Yoga Mats
Measuring 60cm x 182 cm x 1 cm, this high-density rubberized foam yoga mat rolls up with an included strap for easy storage and carrying. (And if you're just getting started on your yoga journey, we have lots of instructional material available to borrow!)
Tug-of-War Ropes
50' in length and 1" in diameter, this polyester rope features looped ends for an anchor person on each side, and can be used for tug-of-war or for other games to help develop gross motor coordination.
Active Fun Bucket Kits
Something for everyone! Designed for groups of four to promote physical activity and encourage fun active living, each Active Fun Bucket includes a set of numbered bean bags, two sets of fabric activity dice, two 16’ segmented skipping ropes (red/blue/white), two 10’ segmented skipping ropes (orange/white), two 32’ speed skipping ropes (purple), two juggling rings and two sets of juggling balls (three balls per set).
